Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State flags off the first round of 2016 Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Week (MNCHW) at Parklane Teaching Hospital, Enugu. The governor said that he was present at the event to give support to the children as leaders of tomorrow, adding that his administration would support anything that concerns them.
Gov. Ugwuanyi also promised to pay hospital bills of some indigent patients of the hospital who ran to him for assistance, saying that he is “the voice of the voiceless”. According to him, “the Government has since, continued to sustain this programme despite the current economic challenges facing the country and I wish to reassure the good people of Enugu State that we will continue to accord priority to all issues relating to their health and well being.”
